ASK is the right starting point when you want an explanation, want to locate relevant files, or need to understand an existing OneStream pattern. It does not write project files, so it is the safest way to explore a workspace or compare approaches.
Use PLAN when review matters
PLAN is designed for changes that deserve a review before they land. It can ask clarification questions, build an outline, and show proposed files or edits. This is useful for a new dashboard, a multi-file rule change, or a project change that affects naming and structure.
Use AGENT to carry out validated work
AGENT is for applying the selected change. It reads the workspace, writes the relevant files, and uses the available validation gates for XML, business rules, and bundle structure. You should use it when the requirement is clear and you are ready for the project files to change.
